Becoming a Midlife Rebel while you’re dying

This morning I had the enormous privilege of interviewing my friend Ellen Sawkins. She and I first met years ago while attending the same bootcamp classes, and found we had a couple of fun things in common – we’d both trained as Social Workers and we’re both Librans!

How could I not love her?! 🥰

Ellen had been experiencing health issues for several years and was dismissed or not properly treated. Until she requested an MRI, which discovered a brain tumour.

That was in 2019 and Ellen now lives with inoperable brain cancer.

Ellen needed to be an advocate for herself to get the diagnosis, and she continues to be a determined and unapologetic champion for what and who she allows in her life.

In our conversation, this Midlife Rebel is clear about her struggles and challenges, and equally powerful in her commitment to living a life that is real.

I ask Ellen how we can live fully without having to experience a terminal diagnosis and PLEASE I really encourage you to stick around for what she has to say.

I’d love to know what you think – leave a comment under the video.

You can check out Ellen’s artwork here.
